Under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and
the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work ( General Application
) Regulations 1993, there is a legal obligation on all Employers
to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, a safe place of work, safe work practices and systems and, competent staff.
In general this is achieved by identifying hazards, assessing
risks and putting control measures in place to eliminate or
reduce these hazards / risks.

To provide your Employees with information in relation to
in-Company safety culture, Seminars can be offered on a range
of issues. The duration and programme content can be tailor-made
to suit your activities and target audience.
Safety Statements.
All places of work, by law, must have a Safety Statement.
This, in essence, is an Employer’s commitment, in writing,
to provide a safe place of work, safe work practices, safety
procedures, including control measures, to manage the hazards
and risks in the business activities. It is an indication,
to your workforce, of your commitment to their safety, health
and welfare while at work.
Safety Surveys and Safety Audits.
Safety Statements are working documents. Therefore, they
need to be constantly up-dated and amended to ensure their
relevance and timeliness. Safety Audits and Surveys provide
you with an outside objective assessment of your safety control
measures, safety awareness culture and ethos.
Resources allocated to accident prevention measures are monies
well spent and could save you a lot of time, energy and financial
losses.
Security
The
Government has introduced legislation to regulate,
licence, control and monitor the private security industry.
This involves training, registration and vetting of persons
in the Industry and all those wishing to enter it.
Q-West Consultants Ltd. is a registered Security Industry
Trainer and offers the following Courses, accredited by The
Security Institute of Ireland
(S.I.I.) and / or Further Education and Training Awards Council (FETAC)
- Basic Guarding Skills - Foundation Course.
- Door Supervisors Procedures - Foundation Course.
- Security Industry Awareness (Security Officer) Course
Level 1 FETAC.
- Security Team Leadership Course, Level 2 FETAC.
These Courses will qualify the
participants for registration with the new Licensing Authority
under the Legislation.
